New to AM. Just looking at v4 now. Wondering what is the point of product categories. Just a way for admin to organize lots of products? That I can understand. But I sense there might be more to it. The docs tell me what to do, but not why. In particular: Just wondering if any experienced users can say something more about this (save me experimenting to death). Thanks.
Categories can be used for number of goals. 1 - it works for content protection - you can specify product category, instead of individual product selection 2 - signup forms visibility 3 - admin interface grouping 4 - yes, in shopping cart categories are used to display products
