Is there a way to make a payment via Paypal BEFORE creating a username/password, etc? I get an exorbitant amount of spam signups (yes, even with Captcha and email verfication) and I'm thinking if they have to get through payment first this will decrease the amount of admin work on my part to delete these accounts. Of course, I'd still like to be able to have affiliates signup through their own form for free, so it would need to be executed only on the signup form. Possible?
That box is already checked. Does this mean I just need to remove from the signup form the member's data, such as username and password info that they enter? Are there any drawbacks to doing this?
The signup form isnt used if you are using paypal in front- amember will generate a username/pw when they IPN 'hits' amember. Make sure you have amember set to send them the registration email. David
I'm not sure I"m understanding this. Isn't there anything in the Docs outlining this all? I searched and couldn't find it. Are you saying that they would purchase only through a Paypal purchase link and then Paypal will send a notification to AMember which would send out the automated message I have created to allow them to them signin? No signup form would be used whatsoever (except maybe for affiliates)? So for my VBulletin, would the signup link then need to be redirected to Paypal instead of the signup form? (Right now it's directed to the signup form which is likely why I get so many spam signups - I started getting them when my VB was independent of AMember and they just are getting redirected now.)
Yep, no signup for would be used- you go from sales page -> paypal -> amember thanks page & registration /product ordered emails sent. David
