I have been testing the paypal payment process and in going through the process, it appears that the user is forced to create a paypal account. In my Paypal website preferences, it says that the feature of not using a paypal is not available for subscriptions.

Is this true? If so, this is a deal breaker for me.

PayPal cannot handle subscriptions without creating an account, and it is reasonable.
It is possible only for one-time payments.

    ?

Are you sure? I just tested my order process & I attached a screenshot of my paypal page here..... It allows credit card payments. Also, the country was 'United States' by default..... does it mean that amember identifies my country or the country is set based on location of merchant?

On your screenshot first line says
"Signing up for PayPal account will be required to complete this purchase."

Do you think they do not know what they say? :)

Then the 3rd line says, "No PayPal? Use Your Credit Card....." :)
