I'm just preparing to upgrade to version 4 - on Monday, hopefully. I'm working with a test installation in a different directory while Amember 3 continues running my site. So I can test out a lot of things, but I'm reluctant to set up the Aweber API integration while the Amember URL is 'wrong', in case this causes trouble later. So that leaves me with questions for anyone who's using Amember 4 with Aweber: 1. Do 'newsletters' work OK? I find as soon as I activate - but don’t configure - the Aweber plugin, the newsletter page in Amember admin is replaced by an error message. I'm hoping this will just go away when the plugin is configured. What's your experience? 2. How does the newsletter block work? I see you get a list of newsletters with checkboxes on the member page, and checking/unchecking instantly subscribes/unsubscribes you to the list in Amember or in Autoresponseplus 3 (which I've already integrated). Does this - the subscribe/unsubscribe - work the same for Aweber? (Assuming the lists are set to single opt-in, of course.) 3. Do you know if I can set up the Aweber integration now and move Amember to a new directory later? - or would that upset Aweber and cause everything to fall apart? (Of course if I could safely do this, I could find the answers to #s 1 and 2 myself.) Thanks!
No-one using the Aweber plugin? I'm writing messages for users - how to unsubscribe to everything, for instance - and I don't know what will actually happen with Aweber and that newsletter block. So if anyone has done this, if you could just share your experience of how it works, that would be really helpful. (I found the error logs - they say something about out of date Aweber keys - so I imagine that activating the plugin at Aweber would resolve that one.)
I'm using it on some sites. Finish integrating and the error will go away. 2) yes but, with aweber, all lists are double opt in. 3) should work. David
Thank you! I've just paid the lovely Amember people to do the upgrade for me, so this is a large relief. Now I know what to put in the unsubscribe messages. About double opt-in: Aweber don't exactly advertise or encourage this, but it is possible to make a list single opt-in - at least, unless they've changed your account to prevent it (which they may do). So for Amember-related lists I've always used single opt-in: people have already gone through one sign-up process, it would be rude to demand they jump through more hoops. Thanks for the reminder to check, though. Must look in to installing Arpreach...
Suggest you test a signup- you'll probably see a double opt in, unless theres been an update to the amember connection with aweber. David
You're right - I should have checked before posting . When I asked Aweber, they confirmed it's an API thing: the same list can be single opt-in with web forms, but it will still be double opt-in with the API. What I'd like to know is why one long-standing subscriber suddenly received an API-generated confirmation email from Aweber this morning - 24 hours+ after I set up integration, which in turn was long after the database was imported. I don't mind it exactly, I'd just much rather it didn't start doing this for everyone on the list. Meanwhile, I've been making great strides setting up Arpreach. Perhaps I'll try the Amember integration tomorrow...
Sorry, I can't understand why when a customer buy a product of mine the leads is not add on list in Aweber automatically. Is there someone that is able to chek this bug in my amember account: i pay it.
I've understand that there's no integration between amember pro and pay pal because customers that pay the product doesn't see the activation link in their amember control panel. How can resolve this problem. I have understand that this is the problem because when I activate manually the product from user box from my amember admin panel I see that the leads is added on aweber list. How can resolve this problem. I want to avoid to activate the subscription manually every times a new customer buy a product and I want that amember activate the subscription automatically.
