I have it set to default. Does this mean that "anyone" can now become an affiliate, without becoming a "member" of the site? If so, how do they register as an affiliate? Where is the signup for that? The reason I ask is cause I don't want all members to become an affiliate automatically since I am using BuddyPress. I don't want affiliate-only profiles to appear within my membership accounts; therefore it would be great to have a separate signup form. Just not sure if "default" is the correct setting for this.
You can visit aMember CP -> Forms Editor and create "Affiliate Signup Form". It is configured separately, and has its own URL.
ok I did that but upon signing up I get the following error: "An internal error happened in the script, please contact webmaster for details" and no affiliate-member is created.
