That looks like an issue with your host.

Agreed. Either your account or the server itself seems destined for maintenance of some kind be it a shut down (restart?) or decommission.

Either you have not been reading their emails about schedule server maintainence or they have let you down.

Sorry for you man... that situation really sucks, I feel for you -- good luck with it.

Looks like it is back up.

    Consider an alternate hosting provider.

Let us know how it turns out for you.

    Thanks guys for your replies.

Yes, it was a problem from my hosting provider.
Now the site is up again but the amember area - http://tahititatou.com/amember/ - is unavailable!
    You get a blank page!

I am not sure where the problem comes from.
    Any clue?
I have opened a ticket for that and I am waiting for aMember support to
    check it.

My hosting provider is ipowerweb and I have had many downtime issues.
Their service really sucks. I have been procrastinating moving to another hosting because the transition will cause more downtime, and mine is a business site; but I think I need to do it because I cannot continue with this on and off situation.

I am considering moving to Hostgator. Do you guys have any advice about that?

If you can, FTP to your server and look in your amember directory and see if there is an error.log file. That should point out where your issues are. If not, check your server logs (CPanel?)

    Argh. Ipowerweb sucks.

They have some of the worst support I've ever come across. I had a client using Ipowerweb that had their databases being corrupted constantly by extremely bad server setup. Ipowerweb weren't the least bit interested in trying to fix it.

I do recommend hostgator - I have multiple dedicated servers and normal hosting accounts with them.

The tricky part is migrating from Ipowerweb's horrible control panel to Hostgator's cpanel. Every domain, database, email account, data directory etc has to be backed up and reinstalled manually. It can take some time.

How many websites / databases / pop mail accounts do you have?

I know! Before purchasing an hosting with Hostgator, I chated with the tech support and they said they would make the whole transfer for me for free. And now that that I have paid, they are saying, "When coming from a non cpanel server emails can not be transferred"!

Only one website / 2 databases / no pop mail, only webmail (a dozen addresses)

Ok. Send me an email to phill at getresults.co.nz so we can talk. I may be able to help you with moving to hostgator as I've been through this process before with some clients.
