Amember was working fine when I last tried to log in five days ago, but today my browser refused to load.

I contacted my hosting support who returned to say:

"This has been checked and the page seems working now. As checked, our engineers confirmed that the issue has to do with the .htaccess file found in the /member directory. Please check and amend the file."

The .htaccess file is dated September 2016 - if it hasn't been changed since then why was it working and now isn't?

Any ideas what it is I need to check and amend please.

    Many thanks.

I asked my hosting support if they could give me a clue. This is what they said:

"Based on the error logs below, your script is timing out. When I visit the link, it is not working again. I would advise to check or optimise the script as that it the reason why it is no longer working. Since you are under a shared server, please ensure that the script won't exceed 60 seconds as set on the server. [Sat Jan 07 16:17:56.678199 2017] [fcgid:warn] [pid 13307] [client 88.214.193.184:52452] mod_fcgid: read data timeout in 60 seconds
    [Sat Jan 07 16:17:56.679940 2017] [core:error] [pid 13307] [client 88.214.193.184:52452] End of script output before headers: php56-cgi"

Still doesn't explain why it was working and now isn't.

How do I modify the .htaccess file to do as they say?
