Hello, My amember install (about 3 years old) has run into some problems lately. It has an "Error establishing a database connection" when I go to the login page. http://macdojo.com/students-area/login/ I have media temple and they just updated their PHP version which causes problems with Mysql stuff and made me change database user passwords. I believe this is related. I would like some help understanding how to reconnect the information inside my amember install to the correct database credentials. Or help troubleshooting what to do from here. Thank you! -Tharyn
Tharyn go to your aMember installation - Applicacation - Configs and open 'config.php' That file contains database login details and can be edited to the new database connection details.
Path to config file on file system is amember/application/configs/config.php Also you can contact us in heldpesk - we will troubleshoot this issue for you. https://www.amember.com/support Best Regards.
Thank you, i found the config file and updated the info, but it still won't talk. I opened up a support ticket. If anyone else has any ideas let me know. I'll be tinkering with it. Thank you for the help!
I suggest to enable debug mode. It will give you additional info about error http://www.amember.com/docs/Frequently_Asked_Questions#How_to_enable_more_verbose_error_messages
