Coupon for free lifetime access to paid membership

i'm trying to use a coupon that would give a new user lifetime free access to a paid membership. problem is, when the coupon code is entered they're still taken to paypal.

i have coupon set as:

coupon count usage: 99999
members coupon usage: 99999
discount 100%
dates of usage not limited
apply to recurring checked
not locked
product selected

Hmm, sounds like an improvement to the paypal plugin is needed. Send in a tech support ticket so it gets fixed for everyone.
