welcome email after purchase - won't work

    have a new product.

    set it up. it works fine.

    however amember isn't sending the custom welcome email.

    I've done multiple tests, but can't get it working.

    went inside the amember admin:

    manage products > (selected the product) > e-mail settings (the first box is checked and has my custom welcome email).

    suggestions? help? :-(
