    So long story short: when a user tries to change their password OR I try to change their password from the admin panel, they/I get the following generic error:

    An Error has occured
    The database has encountered a problem, please try again later

    The strange part is that this is not the case for all accounts. On some accounts, everything works fine. I tried searching the forums but couldn't find anything with this error relating to password changes, and especially in such an arbitrary way.

    I'm nearly 100% certain that the database name/password in the config file are correct, otherwise there would be more serious issues (meaning aMemember wouldn't be working at all). Possibly it's a folder or file permission thing? Any advice would be very welcome.

    Cheers

    I guess you use some integration plugin and database access details for this plugin is not correct (wrong password or user has not necessary permissions). You can find more details about this error in your error log at
    aMember CP -> Utilities -> Logs

    You can check Database access for plugin at
    aMember CP -> Configuration -> Setup/Configuration -> [PLUGIN NAME]
