Restore problem

    I am trying to restore my database after changing to a new server and I get the following error: "Uploaded file is not valid aMember Pro backup" the file is a direct backup from amember: amember-2010_02_22.sql.gz

    any ideas please.

    @sc0tsman: try unzipping the file first, then restoring from the actual .sql file itself.

    Actually first suggestion in this thread should help.
    aMember require not zipped file in database restore.
    May be zip file is broken?

    No the zip file opens however amember still says invalid strange considering it came from amember

    I've replied to your email sc0tsman (I think we're on different timezones)..

    Something to check. When you unzip the .sql file, can you open it in notepad and make sure the content is viewable there?

    I am getting the same problem and yes I can view the content in notepad.
    Was there a solution at all ?

    I have the same problem I cannot restore a backup I just dowload it . Cannot view it in notepad+
    Any suggestion or help is appreciate

    did you unzip the file first? how big is the file and what error did you get when you tried to open it in notepad?
