Does anybody have any experience with moving an existing installation to https?
I'm interested in having 100% https coverage, redirecting all http traffic to https.

I know as much to change the Secure root URL to the https version of it, as well redirecting http to https via .htaccess. Also I've already changed my custom theme to load resources protocol-less.

    What I don't know is:
    1) Do I need to make any changes in the database, either automatically or by hand?
    2) Will existing affiliate URLs continue to work? If not, is there anything I can do?
    3) Are the same cookies used in both the http and https versions? The reason I care is (or what I really need to know is), in the scenario that visitors that came through an affiliate link before the switch to https, if they buy something after the switch, will the sale be attributed to the affiliate?

    Thanks for your help :)

You do not need to do anything more. All existing links continue to work. Affiliates will get commisson.
