I am currently designing a site for a client and am looking at using mambo server and phpbb (integrated with the mambo plugin), said client needs users to be registered (and to pay for registration) which modules would I need to use aMember in this configuration (would it be pro + mambo +phpbb, just pro+ mambo or phpbb?)

    Thanks

You will need aMember Pro + Mambo plugin + phpBB plugin
Single login will work between aMember and Mambo, and unfortunately, it will not work for phpBB.

    aMember works great with Mambo.

what if instead of phpBB I use Invision board?

It seems that Amember pro + mambo module + IVP module = $$ alot, but perhaps if it all integrates it is worthwhile?

Well, it is not a lot because it is unique solution on the market.

However, only you may decide worth it this money or not. What it will give you:
    - member added to aMember will be added to Mambo and Invision Board
    - member expired to aMember will be deleted from Mambo and disabled in IB
    - it is possible to setup "single-login" between all 3 applications
    Nothing more, no magic....

How does the single signon work for Mambo? Do you use the Mambo login form or do you use the Amember signon form or will either work?

    Mambo Module for Amember Login

ok, answered my own question. You must log in to Amember first for single signon to work with mambo.

To simplify this process for integrating Amember and Mambo, I have created a Mambo module which you can use in place of the existing Mambo Login Module. I have attached a copy of it.

If you have installed Amember to a directory different than amember, then you will need to slightly modify the mod_amemberl.php to change amember to wherever your directory points to:

    /amember/logout.php
    /amember/login.php

You can install the module using install module in the Mambo Admin console.
