    Hello,

I'm looking for all the help I can with tracking purchases in my Amember system with Google analytics.

I have the plug-in enabled in Setup | Configuration.

But, what do I do next?

Do I have to setup a Goal in GA and, if so, what is the Goal URL of a purchase? Right now, I'm not seeing any conversions.

Any assistance would be greatly appreciated!

    Thanks in advance,

    Steve

Are you seeing results in the ecommerce section of analytics?
If you want to build a goal funnel, then you use the goal URL.

No, there is nothing in the Ecommerce section.

One big question is what does the GA plug-in for Amember actually do. Does it only allow tracking of amember page hits? Of course, what I want to do is have it track conversions so I can track them (what sources led to them, how much were they worth, etc.).

Do I still need to add conversion code from GA to some thank you pages of Amember?

    Thanks!

    Thanks for that clarification.

I had a purchase last night, but I don't see anything in Google Analytics. What do I need to setup in Google Analytics next?

OK, I see that the purchases are showing up in the Ecommerce section.

Any tips on how I can now see these purchases as conversions and, thus, be able to see which sources led to these conversions, etc.?

    Thanks!

No, I haven't. I can see that it displays some interesting path and source information. But, I'm looking at "Multi-channel Funnels" and it doesn't seem to say how to create a funnel (it just displays path information).

What I'm looking for would logically be under Traffic Sources | Advertising | AdWords, but it displays Goal Completion data, which the AMember plug-in doesn't seem to deal with (I have to manually setup goals, but I can't include the real sales data from amember for a sign-up and I'm not sure which URL to put as the thank you page for a paid sign-up). Maybe I can customize the AdWords report.

If I wanted to see purchases in aMember as a goal in Adwords, what URL would I need to use?

    Thanks!

    Sorry for the delayed response.

    I'm using Version 4. I don't see a /amember/thanks or signup page.

Well, after waiting for 4 days to hear from aMember, I am kinda giving up on their support.

    So here is my problem:
I am using aMember 4 + WordPress + BlueSnap (Plimus).
I have set everything up in Google Analytics, enabled ecommerce tracking, set up my goals, etc.
I have configured aMember with my GA tracking code, everything as usual.

However, nothing ever showed up in my Ecommerce tab in Google Analytics. Nothing. Zero.
Goals are tracked properly, they show up, but nothing in Ecommerce.

Any tips about what else I could try? I'm completely lost, so any input is welcome.

Can you do a screenshot of your settings for google analytics in amember?

    Hey David,

Sure, though there isn't much to show.

BlueSnap (Plimus) answered to my question just with a link to their documentation page, which I of course already read like 20 times.
Other than that, they recommended to contact Google... though I doubt it will change anything.

    Thanks for looking at this.

Are you using a wordpress theme that has analytics in it already? Then you can enable the 'include only sales code' option.

I will try that for a day or two, see if it fixes anything.
Was looking at that option for a while, but decided for some reason that it would not help with this.

Guess we'll find out soon :)
