Dear All, I've installed Amember at a URL such as the following: http://www.mysite/amember/ Is there anyway I change it so that it's something like the following? http://www.mysite/xxx/ I would like to remove 'amember' and put something more customised. 1) In the amember admin / setup change the root url and secure url to the new urls 2) change the folder name in ftp Make sure you do it in this order. David
Hi - I am brand new here. I did a search on this forum but cannot find any posts closer than this one regarding my question so I apologize if I am repeating a common question. Can we use our main domain URL as the AMember URL? For instance, my client has purchased a domain specifically for use with AMember. It would be www.domainname.com How can I change her www.domainname.com/amemeber to www.domainname.com? Should I just move the AMember folder from the Public.html folder to the root folder? Thank you. Well, I would set it up like any other website I suppose. I don't know, I'm not there yet. I guess ubsequent pages would be: www.mydomainname.com/pagelinkedtosite.html or .php (however the extensions will go). That doesn't really matter. I can stuff them all into an AMember folder or wherever. But what I need is when someone dials up my clients domain name/main URL they get to her AMember main page. We are using her AMember site as her website not an extension of one that is already created. Hope this all makes sense?!?!?! Claudia
No!! Point I was trying to make was that the aMember scripts need to go into a directory called amember, membership or whatever you decide to call that directory. Your site can then follow any normal layout as far as directories ate concerned. The first page that a visitor lands on is the home or index page. You can design this page anyway you wish. But what are you refering to as aMember main page? It has none in the normally accepted sense, it is a site 'content protection' script not website as such in its own right.
Got it now that I have my site designed, thank you. I see that the AMember scripts do just link to new and/or existing site designs. I was confused because I have done Traffic Exchange designs before and those scripts include a customizable home page. So when a person purchases the TE script the domain it is hooked into is the scripts home page generic template right away. I was looking for something like that with this script.
