As anyone who has used paypal IPN for subscriptions will know, paypal has an arbitrary rule that you can't upgrade by more than 20% of the original subcription value.

    Bizarre.

How does amember deal with this. In paypal it is ugly, you have to take the new sub and then cancel the old one.

If I have a basic subscription at $20 and a premium at $100, what happens with amember when a basic wants to upgrade?

    Thanks in advance

Unfortunately aMember does not support automatic upgrades with paypal.
So in order to upgrade user have to cancel old subscription and purchase new one.

Re-waking an old thread, but seems better than just creating news ones.

So if this is the case with paypal, and you want a store like say Evernote or Dropbox where users can upgrade/downgrade as they like, can anyone recommend the easiest to setup payment processors that work this way with amember?

    Many thanks, Steve

To do this properly, you need your own payment processor- not a 3rd party like paypal regular.
    authorize.net etc.. may work.

Thanks David, I'm looking at getting a custom plugin built to Netbanx who we use in the UK.

    Kind regards, Steve
