I'm looking for a bit of clarification on what to enter for my 2nd tier commission settings.

I want to pay the affiliate who refers a sale 40% of that sale, and I want to pay that affiliate's 'sponsor' 5% of the sale, or 12.5% of the 1st affiliate's commission.

I know different scripts define this differently, and I want to know which of the 2 numbers to put in the 2nd tier commission setting - 5% or 12.5%?

For example, the sale is for $100.
Affiliate A gets $40 for referring the sale.
Affiliate B get $5 for referring Affiliate A into the program.

    Thanks for any help here.

    In the product settings
Affiliate commission for first payment: $40 - This is the 1st tier payment
2 Tier - Affiliate commission for first payment: $5 - This is the 2nd tier payment

    Hi David,

I know what the tiers are. I'm looking for which percentage aMember needs to calculate the commissions I want to give my affiliates.

Why not use dollar amounts since this is what you want to pay?
    Maybe I'm misunderstanding the question...

    Hi powerkeys,

It should be 12.5%, and not 5%.

Thanks Lee. Didn't want to 'short' my affiliates by putting the wrong percentage in the field.

    Hi David,

That's okay. I know some of this stuff can be confusing.

The reason I want to use percentages rather than dollar amounts is because I plan to make heavy use of coupons, and the dollar amounts will change frequently, and sometimes be different amounts depending on the source of traffic.

Correct 12.5% because the commission of the next tiers is calculated on the profit of the affiliate of the previous level and not on the original amount of the product.
