My affiliate program is checked to "Allow redirecting to external URLs". But this produces a LONG LONG string of letters and numbers. So when my affiliates link to my site with their custom URL, it is a clearly an affiliate link. This is awful when linking from YouTube's description box especially. Besides the extra step of using a service like bit.ly, is there any way to shorten this URL?
The best approach is use option 'Enable Click Tracking Code' within affiliate module configuration: aMember CP -> Configuration -> Setup/Configuration -> Affiliates Then your affiliate can use direct urls to your site pages with get parameter eg.: http://example.com/some-page-on-your-site.html?ref=affuseranme http://example.com/another-some-page-on-your-site.html?ref=affuseranme etc.
Thanks for the quick response on this - I have an affiliate who wants his link today... Is there placeholder code for affuseranme? I want to automate this.
Okay. Great. Thanks for that... One last question: How do I let my affiliates know that I have a php affiliate page with links on it? In other words, where do I display the text that says something like: Click here to get all my banner and text links.
