I would like to have a login/out link somewhere in the header of my wordpress theme i know there is a widget for the sidebar but i only have the sidebar on some of the pages and I want the login/out link shown in the header all through out the site any advice would be great thanks
Assuming you have a widget area in your header, you could use 2 aMember text widgets to display one set of links to a visitor and one set of links to a logged in user. You can see this concept used in a sidebar widget in this screencast. You create the hyperlinks using the standard HTML code. You could just put a "Login" link in an aMemeber text widget configured to be visible to someone not logged in. And pug a "Logout" link in an aMember text widget configured to be visible only to someone logged in.
