    Hi guys,

Do any of you know a snippet to include product name on emails. I'd like to display the users product name when sending an automatic email?

    Thanks, hope you can help!

    Kind regards,

    Aaron

Unfortunately, it is not implemented yet.
It is a bit unclear what the product name must be displayed, as customer may have several products.
    Last paid product?
    Last product at all?
    First product user bought?

I think this is mostly useful for people that sell single products.

So if multiple products were sold, it would just default back to saying "Multiple Products" or something editable by the user.

I am afraid it will cause a lot of questions, but we will try to add something for it into next release.

It used to exist in version 3. Did it cause a lot of questions there?

Do you have an estimate of when you will be adding this capability back?

    touche.

a few other things used to work just fine in v3 and now are nowhere to be found in v4 (yes, the %user.pass% field in email templates - pulling that out was just... retarded).

In v3 you defined a personal e-mail for each product. you can do the same in v4 and literally include product name into e-mail.
In v3 you were able to define global autoresponder for all products, too. It always choose first product and the first product title has been inserted. If no one mentioned this, it does not mean there was no such problem. I believe it was not what was expected from this function.

We are looking for a better way to solve this puzzle and it will be done. I would appreciate any suggestions in this thread.

umm, where can you do that in v4? I don't see it in the tags...

and why are the tags only available in Plain Text mode, not in HTML mode?

p.s. - that Product title selection logic *should* insert the latest product purchased (as I haven't seen that many clients, if any, who are selling multiple products at once).

When I say literally, I mean insert
    "My Best Product Title"
into template instead of template variable %product.title% or similar.

Right... but if I am creating a single autoresponder for multiple products, I can't just hardcode the product name in there... so how do I actually insert the product.title in the autoresponder? And it only needs to insert the product purchased / product that triggered that autoresponder title, not confuse itself trying to figure out which product the user bought (if they bought multiple ones, etc), as that won't be the case.

Why not just add the field back that existed in v3, which allowed the Product Title. What happened in v3 when a user ordered multiple products and this was the setting? Whatever way it did work seemed to be just fine.

I would also like to see the Product Title added back to the list of email variables. Thank you.

Just adding my voice to the chorus. Would enjoy this implementation and look forward to seeing it in a future release.
