    Hi,
My site wordpress site has SSL for anyone logged in with amember.
I followed the instructions to protect video from the wiki site. When I embed a video on a wordpress page, it is unsecure (as in HTTP).

I tried changing the URLs in the embed code from http to https, I still get an error. I believe the java script references flowplayer.swf using http://mysite.com/amember/....etc.

Any ideas on how to force this to use https?
And perhaps a better question, if I protect a wordpress post with amember and that post has a video embeded, do I even need to first protect the video with amember?

    Thanks!

    Not sure on this...
Yes. If you don't protect the video, the link could be bookmarked and played without even logging in.

I think your understanding of what 'protection' is is confused. SSL is to protect the transmission of data between the users browser and the website- for example wen you submit credit card information.

What you are asking about- i think, is protecting the video from download. This is not related to SSL. This is about putting the video in a 'protected directory'. See the protect content folders video.

You could try using S3Media Stream Plugin (http://www.wp21century.com/) for wordpress to secure the videos and then protect the posts with amember - I have done this on several sites (also with other membership software) and works a treat, makes it impossible to share the videos by copying and pasting the URL and the member software makes it impossible to get to the post unless you have a user name and password - also if for some reason you want to change to different membership software to protect the site later (not sure why you would as amember is so excellent) you can easily. Only downside is you need to have amazon s3 which costs more $ (unless you already have your site hosted on Amazon infrastructure). However one other advantage of this method is you can also push the videos to Amazon Cloudfront and therefore make the videos load faster for your users - particularly good if your members are all over the world.

You do not need any additional plugins, aMember is able to protect videos (and files) on Amazon S3 as well.
Enable plugin at aMember CP -> Setup -> Plugins : Storage, enable "s3" plugin.

Then at aMember CP -> Protect Content -> Video, you will be able to protect content upoaded to S3. We have not implemented CloudFront support yet, but it is not a problem if you ask us we will implement it.
